Conservation Is Key

Eco-ConservationThere is a buzz in the air and changes are afoot at Indigo Creations.

Maybe you keep up with us on Twitter or Facebook, or perhaps you’ve read a recent blog post. If so, you’ll be aware that these are exciting times for the crew who bring you creativity, vision and fabulousness. If you haven’t been in touch with us recently, here’s the deal…

We here at Indigo Creations have decided that ‘giving back’ in our personal lives is just not enough. We want to take things a step further and embrace this concept across the whole scope of what we do and how we do it. We want it to be the very essence of our core values and goals. You’ll have realized by now that this something the entire team is very passionate about. We’ve realized it’s all very well to do something at home… but if you believe so resolutely about something, why not make it a part of your work life too, right?

So, without further ado let’s get into these changes and explain exactly what they are…

We’ve been researching a number of conservation projects for a while now. Ensuring they are in line with our core values, and making sure they really do need the support they say they do. We’ve selected few of these conservation projects from around the world and the big news is that Indigo Creations will now be donating a hefty percentage of our profits to these groups. Mostly these projects are focused on animal and eco conservation, and ALL of them have had to satisfy our rather stringent requirements such as:

  • They must be smaller projects
  • No big funders or sponsors are to be already involved with these projects
  • We insist that the majority of the donation goes directly into the project and doesn’t get lost in ‘admin’
  • We want projects we can absolutely stand behind

The first cab off the rank in terms of conservation projects is the wonderful Cheetah Experience, a not-for-profit organization located in South Africa. A good friend of Kiki’s is a regular volunteer here and so firsthand information is always readily available, and on top of this Kiki is also in regular contact with the owners of this amazing project. The people who work here put their heart and soul into conserving endangered species, with a big focus on the conservation and breeding cheetahs. Cheetah Experience began with a single cheetah needing help and now they help every animal they can, including lions, leopards, servals, caracals and wolves. These big kitties all eat a lot, as well as requiring veterinary care, and as you can imagine their upkeep is not cheap. We want to do all we can to help these people who work so hard to conserve and support such beautiful animals. For more information about Cheetah Experience click here.

Closer to home, Kiki also has her eyes on an eco-conservation project located right in her homeland of Serbia. The project is still to be confirmed and talks are ongoing. As soon as something is finalized, they will be in dire need of support, and we’ll make sure there is plenty of information for you to read all about it right here.

What we like best about these changes is that with ‘giving’, comes transparency. We know that a whole new level of openness and honesty is essential for a company who aspire to do what we do. And we love it!!! When you start giving to people and to organizations, you also open your company’s records… but so much more than that, you also open your soul.

We really hope you love what we are doing, as much as we do. These are very exciting times for Indigo Creations. We are so passionate about what we do at work but just as much, we are passionate about what we can now do though our work. If you are as passionate as we are, and we hope you are, we ask that you join us in helping to save our magical planet, it’s majestic wildlife and the eco-system that is the very basis of what we are.

The more Indigo Creations grows, the more we can do to help.
